If you're like most skinny guys, one of the biggest struggles you have with your program is getting in enough calories. But yet, if you don't accomplish this goal, you won't get bigger. It's that simple really. Lift heavy in the gym, provide the raw nutrients to generate more lean muscle mass.

Do this and you have success. Don’t do this and well, you'll be fighting an ongoing battle.
Since many skinny guys do require a massive number of calories a day just to even gain one pound a week, it's understandable that there'd be some issues getting this all in. After all, your stomach is only so big and when you're constantly loading it up with food, you're going to feel bloated, full, and sick and tired of eating.
Thankfully, if you abide by some of the following tips, it doesn't have to feel like quite the challenge. Let's have a look at a few things that you can do to really boost up your calorie intake and see faster results.
Use Protein Shakes Between Meals
The very first thing that you can do to really boost up your calorie intake is to add in some protein shakes between your meals. Many people will use protein shakes to replace their meals, but instead you want to be using them in addition to your meals.
Since the body doesn't register liquid calories like it does food calories, you'll find it doesn't fill you up as fast and therefore you can take in more food later on without a problem.
Snack On Peanut Butter
The second thing that you should be doing with your diet is snacking on nuts or peanut butter whenever possible. Essentially put peanut butter on everything you can – apples, bananas, bagels, bread, anything.
It's a perfectly good calorie dense food that's filled with healthy fats, some protein, and minimal amounts of carbs.
Likewise, nuts are the perfect calorie dense snack to take wherever you go and a handful can easily come in at 500-600 calories.
Swap Salmon Or Beef For Chicken
Third, another great tip to get those calories up higher is to eat salmon or beef rather than chicken more often. While chicken is definitely a good source of protein and you should make use of it, remember that it's low in fat and calories.
Instead, go with salmon or steak. These contain some fats so will be more calorie dense allowing you to reach your goals faster.
Take Your Oats Raw
For breakfast in the morning, rather than cooking your oats which takes up way too much room in the stomach, go with raw oats. Eat them just like you would a regular cereal with milk, honey, and berries thrown in on top.
These are also good mixed into protein shakes to get the carbs and calories up there.
Use Dried Rather Than Fresh Fruit
Finally, instead of snacking on fresh fruit throughout the day which has a little too much fiber and will fill you up quickly, try using dried fruit instead.
Just half a cup of dried fruit contains hundreds of calories and will easily put you into your desired calorie target range.
So keep all of these points in mind if you're struggling to meet your desired calorie intake. It doesn't have to be a challenge if you make a few simple adjustments on a daily basis.
