No Time To Exercise? Ten Simple Ways To Find Time For Fitness
It can be very difficult for professionals, who maintain an incredibly busy schedule, to stay fit and healthy. Most probably believe that those who are successful at living a healthy lifestyle and staying in peak fitness have a lot less on their plate. Although it can feel like a lack of time is what keeps us from building strong, lean and healthy bodies, we have to remember that everyone has the same 24 hours in a day to be successful. It's time to get rid of the perception that you are “too busy” and look at ways to “create time” to invest in building a body that is healthy, fit and energized. Let's take a look at ten ways to find time for fitness in the busy lifestyle of a professional.

1. Watch Less Television
Most people who feel like they are too busy might be surprised how much of their “busy” schedule is filled with time wasters. One of the biggest is watching too much television. Watching television can be a great way to relax after a hectic day but in today's society it is probably the biggest time sink. Studies show that the average American spends nearly two to three hours a day plopped in front of the TV. If you've fallen into this trap, try cutting that in half and use the freed up time to go for a walk, workout, or prepare some healthy meals.
2. Use A Home Gym
Maybe you don't feel like you have the time to drive to a gym to fit a workout in or that gym memberships are too expensive. Having a home gym can be a convenient choice and it has some great benefits including:
• The ability to work out in private
• No waiting to use a machine
• You set the time to workout. You don't have to worry about the gym closing
• Money savings. No costly monthly memberships, less gas used and less car wear and tear since you don't have to drive to a gym.
3. Use a To-Do List
A to-do list is a great way to give your fitness the priority it deserves. For busy professionals, no two days might be the same in terms of schedule. By organizing the tasks you need to do each day, it can be much easier to see where scheduling a workout/exercise makes sense.
4. Hire A Virtual Assistant
As a busy professional, you might be swamped with things to do to the point that you need to work extra hours unnecessarily. A virtual assistant might be the answer to reducing the workload on your plate, especially for any tasks that are tedious, repetitive and time consuming. A virtual assistant can jump in and do several tasks such as word presentation creation, customer support, desktop publishing, proofreading and copy editing and more. They can also help you with scheduling. This will leave you with the extra time needed to fit exercise and healthy eating in.
5. Exercise Regularly
Make exercise a regular part of your lifestyle. It is kind of like taking a part of your pay out of your paycheck and direct depositing it into savings before you receive it. It is out of sight and out of mind yet your savings builds. If you exercise consistently it becomes a part of who you are and there is no need to think about how to fit it in. It just happens. Also, as exercise becomes a part of your lifestyle, you will stay fit and you will find that you will be more productive and be less stressed.
6. Use An iPhone App Like Siri
Siri is an iPhone application that works like a personal assistant. It helps the user find local businesses by searching its vast database. For instance, the user will speak what they are looking for, “Find me a dentist close by”. Siri will then get the answer and connect the user with all of the dentists that are nearby. Siri can be used for all kinds of errands from getting a taxi to booking American at a restaurant. Less time spent on errands means more time to focus on your health and fitness.
7. Spend Less Time on The Phone and Internet
Like television, the time spent on the phone or the Internet can be large time sinks. On average, people spend an hour or two surfing the web or on mindless chit-chat on the phone. To stay fit, all one really needs is 30 minutes or so of exercise each day. Look to cut time on the phone or Internet down and you've got the time you need to get a workout in or prepare nutritious
meals.
8. Turn Everyday Tasks Into A Workout
When you have to run an errand, think about walking instead of driving. Consider biking to work instead of driving. If you work or live in a building that has several floors, take the stairs in stead of the elevator. When you park at a destination, park as far away as possible. Making little changes like this will go a long way to improving fitness.

9. Simplify Your Lifestyle
If your office or home is full of clutter, get rid of what you can and organize the rest. If you have things you never use, consider getting rid of it. When people live in an environment with a lot of clutter and noise, it is hard for them to set their mind on things like health and fitness. You'll find that by simplifying your environment, you will be able to focus and concentrate better and be more easily able to put that attention to staying fit and eating healthy.
10. Pack Your Food
Maybe you fit the exercise in but you are still packing on weight because you feel time only allows you to eat at fast food restaurants or out of vending machines. Take some time to prepare meals for multiple days so that you can pack and go. Cook up a batch of chicken, put together salads, prepare fruits and veggies and other healthy foods. Then organize everything into servings that you can put in Tupperware and refrigerate. Then all you need to do is grab on the go. The preparation really doesn't take a lot of time and you'll cut the junk out of your diet. You'll feel healthier, be healthier and probably save some money along the way.
