Review Of Jason Ferruggia's Muscle Gaining Secrets

If you are like me, I'm tired of all the “muscle growth”, gimmicks that exist. . There are so many differentworkout plans and supplements out there that claim that they can quickly build lean muscle. It can really make one's head spin. You may have already tried many of them only to see money fly out of your pockets, little to no muscle gains and lots of wasted time and energy. With results like this, it is hard not to give up on achieving a lean muscular body that is healthy and fit. As a certified personal trainer, I keep my eyes and ears open for programs that I know can work when used properly. I recently came upon a program by Jason Ferruggia called “Muscle Gaining Secrets” and I wanted to share my thoughts on it.

The “Muscle Gaining Secrets” program or MGS for short, comes as an Ebook which is supplemented by seven free bonuses which I'll discuss later. The Ebook, a 121 page long pdf file that can be downloaded, is broken down into 19 chapters. In chapter 1, Mr. Ferruggia introduces himself and discusses his aspirations and struggles to gain muscle mass in his teen years and early adult life. He goes on to say that through the muscle building secrets that he has learned, he was able to overcome the many training pitfalls that most fall into and is excited to share his knowledge on muscle building with others. The remaining chapters cover all things that have to do with training such as warming up, training session length, exercise selection, rep speed, etc. After going through MGS, I found it very easy to read, it was interesting and it offered pretty good explanations on the training principles. I enjoyed reading it and most of what I read, made perfect logical sense.

The MGS Ebook was full of useful information and covered topics including:

  • The Importance of Strength
  • The Training Effect
  • Exercise Selection
  • Training to Failure
  • Strength and Mass Building Techniques

This names just a few of the appealing topics that are covered in MGS. I fully expected the MGS program to have me jump right into lifting by following an exact routine without any explanations, something a lot of programs tend to do. I was refreshed to see that the MGS program didn't do this and that it covered a wide range of training topics. It even had some interesting takes on finding the right training partner, good training music to use and why there should absolutely be no cell phones allowed in the gym. I also liked the fact that Mr. Ferrugia shared some of his personal story throughout MGS; the Ebook read more like a story than a boring training manual.

Some of my favorite sections that were covered in MGS included:

  • Muscles are made for speed. Don't ignore this
  • Short workouts are all that is needed for big gains.
  • Proper rest intervals between sets: What really is proper?
  • Music: One of the best motivators when trying to build muscle.
  • Chapter 18, the “Question & Answers” section

The final chapter in MSG is the conclusion and I have to say a very fitting one that is a touching personal story between Jason Ferruggia and Rory, his Scottish power-lifter uncle whom Jason had looked up to all of this life. He and his uncle Rory workout together for the first time. Jason is nervous about being able to keep up with his uncle but after doing so, he feels exhilarated and states that it is one of the happiest moments in his life. His uncle was definitely proud of him.

If I had anything to knock about MSG, it would be that it centered solely on the aspects of training. It would have been nice if it had a section or two in the Ebook about supplements and nutrition. On the positive side, these items are covered within the seven free bonuses that come along with the MGS Master Manual. These seven bonuses are very well put together and they could be products by themselves. They include:

  • The Supplement Report – a special report that reveals which supplements will work and which are a waste of money.
  • MGS Exercise Database - A guide that has detailed pictures and descriptions of the top 100 muscle building exercises.
  • MGS Growth Tracker 5000 – Computer software that is easy to use to track body-fat and muscle gains.
  • Uncensored Muscle Building Audio Course – A 60 minute audio guide to understanding how to build muscle without tricks or gimmicks.
  • 10 Minute Muscle Meals – A recipe book that has numerous healthy and delicious meals and shakes that can be prepared in 10 minutes or less.
  • One Month Membership to Jason Ferruggia's site – Allows users to ask questions, join the private forum, create a training logs and more.
  • Lifetime Ebook updates

These free bonuses only enhance Jason Ferruggia's “Muscle Gaining Secrets” program. When everything is put together, I see a program that is well thought out, interesting to read, honest, straight-forward and easy to follow. The MGS program avoids the fluff and teaches that gaining muscle requires both proper knowledge and hard work. In a nutshell, Jason Ferruggia's “Muscle Gaining Secrets”, when followed correctly, is a program that can help just about anybody build a healthy body with more lean muscle.
