Foods that Help You Gain Weight

If you think that you are too skinny and you need to pack on a few more pounds so that you can be a slightly heavier, yet still healthier version of you – the trick is to look for foods that will help you gain weight.

Since you are the 'lucky' part of the human population who has problems gaining rather than losing weight, then you can easily do your job of packing on more pounds while building muscle.

                    

Do your homework and find out which foods will allow you to gain weight more quickly, without having adverse effects to your health.

For example, for breakfast – you can add malt powder to low-fat milk. This will serve as a high-carb and high-protein addition to your diet, without actually adding on more fat content.

                    

Here are a bunch of tips that you can use when it comes to the food items that will help you gain weight:

  1. When preparing veggie salads, add healthy unsaturated fats
    to your dressing like olive or canola oil, nuts, seeds or avocados.
  2. Rather than ordering or preparing plain water, coffee or tea, power-pack your beverages by drinking shakes, smoothies, low-fat milk or pure fruit juice.
  3. Consume foods with 'healthy fats' such as omega-3 fatty acids. This can be found in tuna, salmon, walnuts and flax seeds.
  4. You can pack on the pounds by pumping up the protein in your diet. Eat a lot of lean meats, seeds, legumes, poultry, nuts and fish. Finally, whole grains and the classic fruits-and-veggies combination will also help you pack on the pounds.

Remember that you should not pack on pounds by eating junk foods and greasy foods. Instead of helping you gain weight, these unhealthy food items will just have adverse effects to your health.

Double up the dose of the food items which are good for you – then you can have fun in packing on the pounds and achieving your target weight.
